Tip for finicky eaters
I just thought I would share this with everyone. I have finally found a way for Arokh to eat more. He has always been a picky eater. But i started doing this and he eats sooo much now. Are you ready? The secret is............ Seaweed clips!!! I got the idea from my reef tank. I hand nori in my tank for my tangs to pick at an I thought well why can’t I do it for Arokh? And it worked! I can’t keep the greens on the clip for two min before I have to add more. I think he likes it because it makes him feel like he is foraging. So now instead of sprinkling greens around his bowl to entice him I just hang his food on the clip and he goes to town. This also makes cleaning his cage a lot faster... And FYI it has been tested and proven on beardies too haha. Blackbeard who only would eat a bite or two at a time if I held it for him now eats almost a whole clip full a day. I’m so proud of him! Just thought I would share this. I doubt I’m the first to put this idea to use but I’m taking credit today hahaha.

Tip for finicky eaters That’s a good idea. Its a more naturally instinctive way for them to eat. They don’t look for feeding bowls in the wild, they eat what ever hangs in their way. Nice looking baby, love the bright green.

Tip for finicky eaters great idea! i’m definitely getting a couple. i’ve always twist-tied greens to the sides of their cages, but i keep a super-close eye to make sure they don’t get near the twist tie. this, i wouldn’t even have to worry about. thanks!

Tip for finicky eaters This would be great for Tazumal! He hates eating from a dish and eats so much better when I have live plants in his cage. However, I worry about him getting enough variety that way. This sounds perfect!

Tip for finicky eaters Okay, so I realized seaweed clips won’t work because there is no glass in our enclosure. However, I am getting ideas.....

Tip for finicky eaters Yes no glass would make it difficult lol. Maybe you can take the suction cup off and take a piece of wire and wrap it around a part I the cage? Those suction cups pop right off with a little bit of pulling and there’s a little knob on the back of the clip that would work for wrapping wire (or string) around. Oooor (I just had another brain storm lol) they make those bag clips for chips bags and such with a magnet on the back maybe you could try that f the cage is metal?

Tip for finicky eaters The cage is mesh, not metal, BUT, some of the chip clips have little holes in them or I could have my husband drill or melt a hole. Then I can attach it to the side with wire!
