Odd behavior, is this aggresive?? I have a male green iguana, approximately 9 months to a year old. He is handled on a regular basis and although being a bit unsure of whether or not to trust people yet (as naturally expected) he is very well behaved. However, today he did something new and I am not sure what to make of it. He made a repeated motion as i was holding him, it almost looked like he was trying to throw up o.O he would look at my hand and open his mouth but when he did he would stick out his tongue, and then snap his mouth back shut when I moved my hand. I stood still for a moment and he seemed to relax, but then as soon as i moved to take a step he did it again. I don’t know if this was a ’hey put me down’ or a ’hey i feel like i could fall’ or what, it really confused me.

Bobbing the head up and down is a sign of dominace, shaking the head side to side is a "no" leave me alone. Mine does this sometimes. When she bobbed the head up and down she has bit me but only hard enough to break the skin not as hard as she could have bit. She has also tapped me with her tail when she was upset but still not as hard as she could have. You have to learn them to see how they communicate. They may not be able to talk but they do communicate. Mine also has put her front foot down on my arm to say hey I have an issue here. Sometimes it is difficult to see just what that is. All I can say is it takes love, patience, and paying attention. I let mine out of the cage to roam and she will come jump or climb in my lap and lay on my chest just to be with me. They are very loving creatures when treated well it is sometimes amazing. Mine is about 5 years old and 4 1/2 feet long so when she comes to visit she demands attention. She will also climb on my computer chair and wait for me since she knows it is my main chair. I definately have one big spoiled baby.
