 My iguana scared me alot.

My iguana has been laying eggs and she was done with that now. This evening she went to the bottom of the cage and pooped as she normally does but her insides came out. I called the vet not knowing what to do and they told me to moisen the intestine and put sugar on it to help shrink it. He told me I would have to try to push it back in. I have never done this before in my life but I put her in the tub and got it back in then drained the tub and put sugar on her opening. She seams fine now but I have never been so scared and not knowing what to do for a pet as I was then. I sure hope this never happens again.

How terrifying! I’d have been in the vet’s office for sure!

If she just got done being gravid and layed then odds are she is undernourished and dehydrated [no fault of yours, that is just the way it goes during this time] and dehydration can be a major factor in prolapses.
Glad to hear that you contacted your vet, but I would still keep an eye on her everyday now for awhile and try and get some hydration into her. If this seems an impossible task, then your vet can do it for you.
Prolapses are a scary thing and I know how you felt.
Here is wishing you good luck on the matter.
