How Does She Know?!?!?!?! LOL 
So Chris was out of town the other day and I made myself a ham and cheese sandwich for dinner...headed for the living room to watch a little TV. Max runs from her basking area and heads towards me. Sits there and puffs up a bit and starts swaying back and forth, puffing. She didn’t stop until I shared the wheat bread that she so loves. ROFL I guess she must smell it because I have gone in there with just a piece of cheese or chips or something else that she doesn’t care for and she is totally ok. It was hilarious!!!! And, even though it was wrapped up and she could not see it, she would start swaying back and forth until the bread was gone. How does she know? LOL
The spoiled little brat!!!! hehe

princess martie always knows when there’s food afoot. it funny because i can go into the kitchen 50 times and she’ll sit in the window. if i’m there for a couple minutes, though, that food radar of hers comes alert. getting her to eat her own food is like pulling teeth, but she’ll make a beeline for mine, sneak into the kitchen and eat as much dog food as she can get hold of before i catch her, and eat anything she finds on the floor (presumably to see if it’s edible); she even tries to eat the red off my oriental rug! and they tell me tortoises are eating machines!
