Out of the blue today.
You’ve had green iguanas and this is my first even though I have had her for a long time. I have a question about something that happened this morning. Zig my iguana just out of the blue nipped me on the chin. She was in her cage and I was going to leave and she came to the cage door. I knew she wanted out so I opened the door and sat in my chair. Zig crawled on the floor climbed up my chair and sat on my chest as she has done many times so I began petting her. She turned around and nipped me on the chin. If she really wanted to bite she could have laid my chin open she is a little over 4 feet long. She could have made me have stiches as it turns out it just looks lilke i nicked myself shaving. I feel like it was communication but I don’t understand what she is trying to say. She isn’t sick, she is eating very well, actually more than normal, she is drinking, and seams well in every aspect. Her personality usually is very mild mannered to a loving nature. Did any of your greenies ever do this? I am kinda stumped here.

Out of the blue today. my princess martie, who is the tamest iguana on earth, sank her teeth into my left cheek one morning. we (her former mom, jessi m, and i) decided there were factors:
1. she was gravid and a bit grouchy
2. due to being huge with eggs, she hadn’t eaten in days
3. we’d just gotten out of the shower and i had used fructis shampoo
she’s never shown the slightest inclination since and that was in january. i was a little leary of her, and i didn’t want to be, so i made myself take a nap with her (i sleep on my back and she sleeps on my tummy). when i woke up and still had a whole face, i stopped worrying about it.
were there factors?
