Looking FOR INFO. 
hello everybody I’m looking for information on iguanas. i live in the sticks and found a box with a iguana in it. this i must say is a first. we get all types of animals dropped of out here. he is about 2 foot long and seems to be healthy. we have him in a big cage we built in the barn and put a heat lamp for heat. i was wondering what else we might be missing. he has a very healthy appetite.

Going to need a uvb Light for him as they require it to keep their bones healthy and to make sure they don’t get MBD ( metabolic bone disease) You’ll need some supplements for his diet such as pure calcium, calcium with d3 and a multi vitamin. Make sure you also keep the humidity up in his cage and offer weekly bathes, Lots of fake plants in the cage and things to climb to make him feel comfortable. Make sure you feed him a varied diet not just romaine and ice buge lettuce they have no nutritional value get things like mustard greens, dandelion greens, collard greens, green beans, squash, there’s a nice list of things you should feed your iguana on the green iguana society page a long with loads of information.

Where is the stick’s? Would also be helpful to possibly put up a photo of the cage you have it in.
What are you feeding it now?
2 foot long is not old at all if he still has a full tail!
I think we all need a little bit more here to help you out if you are considering keeping it!

Ditto. We need more information and pics would be great. As for resources, check out the Green Iguana Society, Iguana Den, and anapsid.org. I recommend getting copies of Iguanas for Dummies and Green Iguana, the Ultimate Owners manual.
