That rotten ’guana is too flippin’ smart!

i started giving the dogs food in the bedroom so that they wouldn’t have to wait for martie to finish with her kitchen patrol to eat. it’s been working very well. today she was hanging on the back of the couch, so i fed the dogs in the kitchen and when she got up to do her traditional dog food search, i picked up the dishes. she checked out the kitchen and headed straight for the bedroom!

she finds sharing her home with the dogs handy for another reason:

They have it all figured out. They notice everything, study it, and when you least expect it they prove it!

simple. the dogs are afraid of the iguana, lol! when my iguana arrived she was afraid of the dogs, but she quickly learned they were willing to let her be the boss. my chihuahua touches noses with her sometimes; eventually they’ll be friends. i know several people on the forums with dogs and cats that get along fine with their iguanas.

always be watchful, of course. my iguana is eight years old and full-time free roam, but i have complete faith (now) in her ability to defend herself, which fortunately with my dogs, won’t become necessary. i don’t think anything of it any more.

it’s amazing to me how well she’s adjusted. she’s been with me for a year now. the only real trouble she’s ever given me was when i gave her a cage she didn’t want. she’s an angel now.

i had no doubts about her adjusting to living with you :) she knows who is a good person and who isnt. she was amazing when i adopted her, no problems ever.. and she is still showing how great iguanas can be if shown love, trust and care.

give her a hug for me ^^
