First sign of Aggression towards me ever!
My baby Iguana, Oscar has been handled everyday since he has been brought home almost 2 months ago and never had any problems with ME. He has tail whipped my mom, and my brother. Today he actually tail whipped me and tried to bite me when trying to get him out of his enclosure, the same way I always do. Could it have anything to do with me having handled my baby ball python right before trying to get him. For some reason it didn’t seem like that would be a problem but that is the only thing I can think of. I mean, I would never have the 2 of them out in the open together...It was just really weird. And kinda hurt my feelings :(

First sign of Aggression towards me ever! Depending on how old oscar is he might be getting into the bratty teens phase where one min they’re okay then the next it’s like having a iguana temper tantrum, most iguanas go through this it passes with time. Or he could just be having a day where he doesn’t want to be held they do have their bad days and sometimes they just want to be left alone, so I would say give him the night to himself and see what tomorrow brings.

First sign of Aggression towards me ever! And I wouldn’t have ruled out the fact that you’d just held the snake. The scent of the snake would have still been on your hands and iguanas have an incredible sense of smell.

First sign of Aggression towards me ever! It makes sense when you think about it since snakes are a big predator of baby iguanas and iguana eggs. Iguanas have an amazing sense of smell and they use their nose as much as their eyes to identify us. I’ve heard of people having an issue just wearing perfume. A predator scent could easily be an issue then.

First sign of Aggression towards me ever! well stop stressing out lol you stressing will only cause your iguana to stress.. the smell of the snake, you handling it alot and it getting into the teens might all be a factor.
personaly i would not handle them every day when young... more like 3 times a week. to give them time to themselves.. just like cats and dogs and other pets they dont want you there alot.
so give him some time off for a while and try again... but wash your hands from any sents lol
give it a try just remember to remain calm and collected.. iguanas are very sensitive and can tell if your stressed our, angry, sad or happy

First sign of Aggression towards me ever!
I have not tried to handle him yet...he is incredibly jumpy when I open up his enclosure. So today I changed his water and his food dish and he was running around and trying to tail whip me. So I got some whole wheat bread and give him a tiny piece and he took a snap at my fingers so I just left it there in front of him and left him alone. I feel like such a sissy letting this iguana hurt my feelings like this :( Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I was thinking about switching the glass front of his cage to metal mesh wire stuff..maybe that would make him happier? But my room gets pretty cold at night so I don’t want that to jeopardize the warmth of his enclosure. Does anybody have any ideas on what might be wrong with him?

First sign of Aggression towards me ever! I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with him, you might just have to go through the re-taming process it happens to a lot of people to be honest especially with them turning into teens they just sometimes become miserable brats and tail whip and try and bite you I went through it with both my iguanas one of them still does it. Just have to start over iguanas pretty much do what they want and you have to go with what they want pretty much most people are willing to admit their iguanas in fact own them not the other way around lol. The cage is fine you’re not doing anything wrong you just have to start over basically and it’s probably going to be a pain in the butt, it’s worth it in the end.

First sign of Aggression towards me ever! Still no luck on Oscar :( My ball python is doing AMAZING! Being handled every single day...but still has not eaten yet which worries me. But I’m really concerned about how much Oscar doesn’t like me. Maybe he is jealous of the new arrival? Maybe I should move Benny’s enclosure further away from Oscar’s enclosure...its really driving me nuts!
