 Can Iguanas be housed together?

Does my iguana need a "friend," or will they fight? I noticed they are all housed together in pet stores. Is it safe to have two iguanas in a cage together?

The straight answer is NO! Iguanas are alone animals and will become extremely stressed out, injured or even killed when made to live together. Pet stores are a bad place to get iguana info from. They tried to sell me a heat rock for mine, but thankfully I had did my homework and knew that this was a no no.

Ill throw my two cents in too :P
Iguanas are perfectly happy without a friend, to us it seems lonely but to them its perfect they have you to hold them and be with them and that’s all they need. In the wild baby igs do stick together for safety but they have no boundaries as well. In captivity always keep igs in separate enclosures.

Robin :)
