Some questions! i keep meaning to ask these but spare time is not something i have had much of lately lol! first is their like a big mac version of a green that i dont know about? i feed Levi as much as he can eat and he seems like he is gaining weight soooo slowly! I remember Arokh plumped up so fast, but he was much smaller then Levi is. he has recently been to the vet and been dewormed and i have seen no signs of parasites in his poo. so is their anything i can suppliment with his normal greens to help pack on the pounds? i can barely see his hip bones now but his ribs stick out too much for my liking (you guys know i love my animals on the chunky side lol). also do iguana nails work like dog nails, meaning if you clip them often the quick will go back until they are at the point they should be? Levi has SUCH a long quick, so i can only take the tips off every 2 weeks or so. and my poor arms are starting to look like chipped ham haha! and i am starting to think about freezing greens to cut down salad making time every day. i know that vitamins need to be supplemented if i go this route, but i need to know which vitamins, and how much. ok i think thats all of the questions bumping around inside my head...for now lol

Some questions! There are a few of things you can add to his food. First off, green beans can help them put on weight. You can also sprinkle moringa powder over his food. Or, you can get some critical care and sprinkle that. Another thing you can do is get some alfalfa based rabbit food and pulverize it into a powder and sprinkle that.

Some questions! Vitamins and supplements....I like the pictures on LLL reptile they display well and show many brands. Including the newer Rephasy brand. I am very interested in these myself.
Typically we have offered this vitamin.
Herptivite
or this one as well...there are lots out there...
Reptivite
Some contain D-3 some don’t ....1 or 2x a week is plenty.
A very good natural health foods store item is BEE POLLEN ....open a capsule and sprinkle on the salad 1 or 2x a week ...natural immune system builder !! and packed full of essential ingredients that promote health/digestion/ and so much more.
When we got maxine she was a bit thin and only fed bearded dragon pellets and canned green beans for treats...I swear I don’t know how she survived ...maybe pellets have more to offer than I know???
But we fed her bowls and bowls of good hi quality greens and fruits and breads (wheat / grain) pasta(cooked and plain). Mint from the garden...dandelions from the garden , both flowers and green parts...occasional visits outside she would take a few bites of raw dirt ...like a bird does , probably to aide digestion and a source of minerals. Cactus pad with spines removed, Prickly pear (the red fruit of the cactus) and squashes....butternut ... banana...yellow zucchini...spaghetti ...all peeled and grated or sliced small. Grapes and berries too. Some apple and banana on occasion for treats. Even an orange slice or 3 a few times here and there.
She gained weight and filled out over a period of 1 year....it takes time.
Do you have the food charts from Green ig society and beautiful dragons.com ?

Some questions! Pelleted food isn’t bad, Chris. I’m a firm believer in using pelleted foods along with greens. Of course, I wouldn’t give Beardie pelleted food to an ig since it contains meat products...

Some questions! We used to use Rep-cal, soaked and sprinkled on their greens, mainly as a way of getting them to recognize it as food in an emergency. I have since switched to using Mazuri tortoise chow, soaked in water laced with reptile vitamins and calcium as my new dry staple. Some of the Cyclura breeders use Mazuri tortoise almost exclusively for their Cyclura and they have beautiful, long lived animals. I’d never go to full time dry food, but I do give them some every day. They all love it and it is the best way to sneak in their vitamins and calcium.
