Sorry, just can’t resist posting more pictures of her lol

Here she is getting misted by my mom. She loooves it!!

I feel so bad leaving her in this little cage :( But she got to run around "her room" today for a little while. She didn’t stay out too long before climbing back in though.

She is so silly.... We ended up swapping her food dish and her water dish so she can reach her food a little easier. This is the position she eats in all the time.

Question... When she gets into her new cage, what kind of dish should I use for her food? I HATE that Tupperware dish with a passion. She needs a large food dish though bc she eats a LOT. Maybe I could make her one out of a log or something. Just hollow the middle out to make a bowl :) Bad idea? Good idea?

I prefer flat plates to dishes. I buy the plastic ones from Target. Kismet has Disney princesses on hers and Sebastian has Spiderman and Toy Story. Taz uses a smaller plastic plate so he doesn’t have anything fun yet.

we all constantly post pics of our children. and we all dutifully look and tell each other what beautiful children we have (only because it’s true).

my african grey parrot lives in that exact cage. heaven to him.

you could buy her a food dish just like her water dish at the pet store. my little ones all eat off coffee can lids, except for sini, who has a little ceramic christmas plate, one of two remaining from a set of six or eight i found in a deserted house more than 20 years ago. miss martie has a big ceramic serving bowl. i’ve seen people use ashtrays, crystal saucers... milan found some really cute dishes for hers--maybe she’ll re-post those pics for you. most of my glass cassaroles have had their lids "repurposed," because the nice, heavy, flat kind make such perfect ponds.

ella looks wonderful. i’m glad she found you.

The fake rock dish is what we feed Maxine in....I use a large crock (plastic) for water....There have been times when Maxine ate 2/or 3 bowls but someone is always around to re fill.. we pile it high and load it up with treats.

At the grocery store they have all kinds of plastic crocks for dogs and cats...much larger than the rock dish you use now. very inexpensive as well.

Here is a large bowl...I think I have this type in my snake enclosure for water to soak and drink from ....lol They are plenty big..! 4 CUP
large bowls

Ohhh , btw , Ella is fantastic looking....she is very animated and has no worries deciding from what position to eat ...lol

I forgot to mention that the wood thing is a bad idea....plenty of chances for microscopic bacteria and mold to grow. Even if you seal it still not easy to clean the small nooks and crannies.

Thanks for the info and suggestions guys. Maybe I will just use the water dish she has now as her new food bowl bc I am getting two huge 36"x24" tubs to put in the bottom of her new cage for water. Hopefully she only pics one to go potty in and the other to drink/soak in lol. She’s so awesome. She let us fiddle around in her cage today and pet her. Which she always lets us pet her but this time we had the door open petting her all over. She just closed her eyes and soaked all the attention in.

Another thing... I was thinking about getting the indoor outdoor green carpeting to put on her shelves when we get that far with her cage. Any thoughts on that? Or any suggestions on something else to use? I’m so impatient. I just want it to be done NOW!! Haha

The carpet/astro turf is OK .... try a piece ...if she doesn’t try to eat it proceed with more...no matter what you use ... you have to make sure it doesn’t become food.

I was thinking maybe a very short burber(sp?) Carpet. I’m sure I could find scraps of it somewhere to fit on her shelves. I just think carpet would be much more comfortable for her than the wood itself.

Berber is notorious for catching nails and claws...We have that type of carpet in the front rooms and Maxine will catch her nails if I don’t keep them trimmed. Eventually the loops get frayed and start to un- ravel....however a cut pile would be much nicer. Short commercial nylon or polyester. Or the 3/8" sisal / jute rope ...

A few months of experimenting are in order ....lol
