 Over eating?

Do iguanas have a tendency to over eat if given the chance? My husband fed Ella this morning. Around 2 she still had some food left. But about 20 minutes ago I go over to talk to her and she had eaten the rest of her food and pushed her bowl over to the door lol. So, my mom and I went out and made her another salad and she is chowing down again. I don’t want to starve her but I don’t want to feed her too much and make her belly sick. She looks to have put on some weight since she has been with us. Which is good bc she was kinda skinny and only eating spinach before she got to my house. Well, thanks for any advice :)

No iguanas don’t over eat if you go to green iguana society it tells you that as well. My iguana eats tons of food everyday. Depending on the season I might feed him 2 or 3 times. I just try not to feed toward the evening when its time to sleep for digestion reason

Keep in mind that this is true of greens but not Cyclura. The question was in reference to greens and Lloydene’s answer was perfect.

However, I do want to add a caveat that Cyclura have a tendency to become overweight in captivity.
