 Stealing cage idea

Curt1994 I love the way your cage turned out so I’m going to use it in the plans for Nova’s new cage. Using plastic instead though so it will clean a bit easier and be less likely to brake with a full grown iggy and her mood swings. Hoping this will be her last cage for a long time. The two blues will be going in her cage until/if I ever see aggression. It seems as though they find comfort in each other right now. If I have one out the other will hide. Once they are together again they bask together, eat together and swim together.
On a side note...Please anyone who is new to iggies do not, I repeat DO NOT expect them to get along. Iguanas are solitary animals who do not require another iguana to keep them company. The 55 will be on hand just in case something goes wrong. It is very rare for them to get along. Even if they do get along when the male reaches maturity he will have to be moved so he doesn’t hurt the female trying to breed her. More pics to come later in the week after they settle in some more.

My iggy loved it ! Hope yours does to.... My suggestion use a ply wood back and sides if you don’t use a humidifier or a fogged. It was hard at first to keep humidity but I got a humidifier and it’s almost perfect now

Shoot here in south TX we dont have to worry about humidity. lol. Im in Houston so it never really goes away, even in the house. They also get baths a few times a week, daily when they are shedding. Jesse will probably chime in too about the humidity down here too. If anything gets wet it molds within seconds.
Anyways, thank you for the cage idea. I hope she will like it.

humidity? not a prob! i don’t even own a hygrometer. it’s texas. you’ll break a sweat walking across the living room in the middle of winter. the reptiles love it. the other mammals and i just lie around and try to survive.

I bought a hygrometer and hung it in the house. It is 60% humidity in my living room. We’re good.

I was in Fl. for 30 years and moved back to Cal. 2 years ago. BOY do I miss the humidity! If it hits 30% here people hate it. lol

Lol, oh the humidity. I will agree with Jesse on "just trying to survive". My dogs lay on the tile floor all day, sometimes it looks good enough to try myself.
