Outgrowing a cage, stress marks and leash.

The Past 2 days I’ve noticed my iggy getting those dark blackish markings that they get when stressed I dont really know why and its only When its in its cage I just took it out and the stress marks went away instantly. I take my iggy out almost every day and let it sit on my shoulder sometimes on my bed and I know sometimes when I put it back it wants to come back out and will run around the cage trying to find a way out but even so it never got the stress marks. I know its quickly outgrowing its cage and will need a new one within around 1-3 months, I will have had my iggy for 5 months on the 13th of this month. it has However pretty much outgrown the rock ledge I bought it at petco which is where it spends most of its time on so maybe that might be stressing it out? or maybe it doesnt want to be in its cage at all? also had a question about leashes Im planning on getting one theres one i saw at petco anyone have any experiences with them?

Heres a quick picture I took of its cage tho looking at it now in the picture it looks rather plain, maybe adding more fake leaves ect?

Heres the ledge where he spends most of his time basking and sleeping which I think he is getting to big for.

Any tips advice or ideas would help a ton!

and now here are some random pics!

I had him on my shoulder which he then climbed to my head and on his way down he managed to get into my shirt I was trying to get him out at first but then felt bad becosue he had gotten all snug and comfy so I left him there for about an hour.

wow, he’s looking so good! and very tame.

my first thought would be, he doesn’t want to be in his cage. i don’t know if that means he’s gotten too big, but i would probably start working on a new one now.

i use a hip leash on elvis and galadriel--you can see it in the post about elvis. it’s only a piece of yarn with a slip knot in each end, but it seems comfortable for them and they can’t get out of it. they’ve even both gotten good about putting it on. they’re starting to learn what, "be still" means.
