Sleestack defiantly keeps trying to make his way over to the window (where he has torn the screen and hurt his nose in the past). I am blocking his passage and get some petting time in while he plans his next method of attack. (it’s a longer video so you may have to wait for it to load)

LizarD ZeN Calcium rich greens should be the main focus...collards, mustards, turnip greens, escarole, endive, watercress, dandelion. Mix and match. Add various squash, green beans, chinese pea pods to the salad and a little fruit like mango, papaya, berries.

LizarD ZeN haha... i like this one a lot... this is totally like Iggy’s personality. she would rather me not touch her at all, and gives me that same attitude when i have her on my lap, like "can we please get this over with?"

LizarD ZeN He can jump but they don’t seem as spry as younger igs....and they do a lot more damage knocking things over since they are much heavier. He can effortlessy jump up on furniture and stuff like that, however.
Iluviggy...are you kidding!? ha...in this video, Slee actually half way looks like he doesn’t mind being touched. You should see him when he is really annoyed! (aside from the eye closing and cringing that is but he can look way more dramatic about it normally!)

LizarD ZeN Wow what a great iggy, I got mine after he/she was dumped in the woods. I have not idea how old it is or how big it will get. With a proper diet and cage do you think mine could get this big. I posted sammys cage and photos on this site. Wouldnt mine some words of encouragement, your iguana is the size i would just love.

LizarD ZeN If they are the photos in your profile....I think there is a good chance Sammy could get that big. Only time will tell but with proper UV lighting, heat, a nutritious calcium rich diet (and as much as Sammy will eat!), I think it could happen. Do a fecal check (take fresh samples 2x per year at least to the vet). This catches most parasites which are easily treated. And now that Slee is older, I do get a blood test every 1-1.5 years. This shows any signs of infection or potential organ problems. The fecal isn’t too expensive but the blood tests can be. Any natural sun exposure can really give their health a boost too. Good luck. Males are bulkier than females. I wasn’t sure what yours was since it was inside the cage. Females can get just as long but won’t be as large looking because of their lack of jowels. Although I did know one massive female that was very impressive.

LizarD ZeN ha... so slee is much grouchier on the regular, huh? yeah, last night i got the fight of a lifetime when i took her out- she wanted nothing to do w/ me and tried her best to avoid being handled... puffing like crazy, flaring up all big, shaking/bobbing my hand away from her like as if i was diseased*lol*.. she’s the worst iguana to give a bath- she goes beserk when you first put her in and thrashes water everywhere, then once she’s done using the tub as a toilet, does her very best to climb out of the tub, uinsuccessfully since my tub is the rounded on the edges, so there’s no ledge like my old one. of course, this is all going on as i’m trying to scoop poop out of the tub, and makes quite the mess. when i refill the tub again she’s like, "oh no not again!" she’ll keep on trying to get out, then finally make a puffing sound and just give up, exasperated. then i get the ultimate stink eye until i take her out.

LizarD ZeN Slee is a pain on the way to the tub most times, but not all. Once he gets in there, he seems to enjoy himself. Maybe yours will calm down with time and learn to enjoy it. Sleestack leaves the tub on his own. If I take him out, he’ll climb back in out of defiance I guess..."I’m not ready!" Sometimes he’ll get out and get back in again anyway. The colder it is outside, the longer he wants to stay in the tub and the more he loves a warm bath.
He is just so stubborn. When he wants to go somewhere (like the window in this video), he will try over and over again....different routes if I block it. They are not stupid, that is for sure....but certainly stubborn.
