Mating Season?
When is mating season for iguana’s and if it’s now what should i do with my male, Ed. i havent had him checked by a vet on his gneder but have had many different opinions that he is. and these past 2 days he has been very spastic, hes normally jumpy but once u have ahold of him he’s fine, but i just went to feed him and he went insane all over the place knocking stuff over and flinging the bedding and wouldn’t stop! i think he is to used to being free constantly, because the ppl i got him from just left the cage open! im not able to keep the right heat when he is loose so im letting him loose a lot less and i think that is his problem. any advice?

Mating Season? I have read when a male is in season and no female to mate with that they should have a " love buddy " make one with some clothe stuff it with some rice or something so he can use that as a mate instead . They tend to get real moody when they are in season also .
I have one here that I TRIED to clean out his cage yesterday and was on guard and ready to attack and was holding his ground. I made him a " love buddy " . They also can sense when any female even humans are in season or have there period . And not a good combination . You could probably use a stuff animal also .

Mating Season?
What about females? What do they usually do, Our Jade has been wanting out all the time, and she’s been a little jumpy too!! Is it mating season right now, I mean the time of year. Or does it vary for the individual Iggy?

Mating Season? Mine is out of breeding season...usually the colder, winter months are when he is in the height of his breeding mode.

Mating Season? Slee will act all restless, want to pace the house, dig at every door and window, he sometimes goes off of potty training during this time too. It’s funny, but the way we really know is when he exits the bathroom after pooping, if he turns right, he is in breeding season...when he turns left again, he is finished! Going left is the way to his food and back to his cage which is where he naturally chooses to go the rest of the year. Only during breeding season is he not as interested in food...and he wants to find a girl somewhere in the house!
