my ig has recently changed coloration on parts of her body- the sides of her belly especially. she has a flourescent yellow color to her there. the top of her is still green, but just her sides and some of her back.
i’ve researched this and have come across a loty of vague information- some photos of healthy igs displaying this bright yellow color and the stating that this is sometimes a breeding season realted change as opposed to the usual orange color. other sites i’ve visited say that a bright yellow is a definite sign of illness. as i had posted in the past weeks or so, there were some other health concerns i’ve been having, but have since made the correct adjustments- closer uvb lamp, as well as monitoring temps more closely seem to be helping.
anyone have pics to post of abnormal yellow color or if there is such a thing, normal yellow color? thanks.

I have seen yellowish iguanas before, quite commonly too. In long island new york, you walk into a pet store and theres always iguanas of green and yellow, i dont think its a sign of illness though, thats new info for me

My iguana has also started getting the yellowish color in him . He has also become more aggressive so I am blaming it on him possibly being in season .

it’s a very vivid yellow, almost a flourescent yellow at times, but not orange at all. it started out just on small areas of the sides but now it’s showing up more. the vet supposedly did a probe and says mine is a female. i’m pretty sure he’s right since Iggy is 3 & 1/2 years old and doesn’t really have any jowls. she does possess some more masculine traits than most female igs though.
