Couple Questions OK, first how long does it usually take them to shed, second, how hot is too hot for their basking spot, and last is there a good book we could get to help us out with all these types of questions? Sorry about all this I think we are just paranoid we might do something wrong! Thanks in advance.

Couple Questions basking area should be at 90-95 degrees. i have heard that 100 is okay but nothing beyond that of course, however i’d stay in the 90-95 range. it’s hard to say how long a shed would take from start to finish. there are a few factors including humidity, whether you are soaking your ig enough, and heat. plus, sometimes when an ig sheds you don’t really notice until it’s about halfway through the entire proccess. i would only worry about how long it’s taking if a) your ig is not shedding every few weeks, or b) shed is getting black and constricting spikes or toes or c) it doesn’t appear to be falling off and it’s been more than 2 weeks. bathing and misting help a lot. as for books, iguanas for dummies is good, but there’s another one that i hear a lot about written by james hatfield; i think it’s called the ultimate iguana manual or something like that.
