 The big picture

Here’s almost all of Gizmo! I’m very pleased with her juicy but firm belly, nice strong thighs and fat tail base. She passed some urates today and they were clean and white, so that’s a decent sign of good kidney function. I don’t want to take her to the vet’s office for a month or so if I can help it because she’s been through enough stress already. Mark is coming on Monday so hopefully she will be kind enough to provide a fecal sample. A more thorough blood panel can wait awhile, I’m sure.

 Around 2.5 years

Adam got her in October 2000 and figures she was at least 5 months old when he got her as she was about 18 inches long then. Now she is 46 inches (nearly 4 feet!) from snout to tail tip. I haven’t gotten an accurate snout to vent yet. She is nervous and tail-whippy but settles down after about 15 minutes. I think she will become very sweet once we get to know each other. Right now she’s only scared, not really aggressive. I’m still pretty scratched up, though. Her eyes are the loveliest green! I wish I had xta’s camera skills to get a good picture. I could get lost in them. I don’t remember ever hearing about a green-eyed ig before. She does have brown rings around the limbus (outside edge of the iris, or colored part) but the eyes are deep green.

the color of his eyes are completely different from my others igs.Thats why I thought it was a female.In SKINKS we can know the gender by the color of the eyes.Craig Loose taught me that.Gymo is VERY big for a female!!Godzilla is only 4 feet 2!! Flavia
