 Chrickets??

Hey every body, I have a question.....how much real harm would one or two crix do to my iguana?? Just a lil while ago when I was cleaning Zoeys cage, I found a cricket in there ( I think that my Mom put it in there ). I don’t know if there was more than the one cricket in Zoeys cage, but I just want to make sure that one or two crickets wont hurt her. I don’t think that she ate ne.........but im just a lil paranoid about it.

Eating one or two crix one time will do no harm. BUT, leaving crix in the enclosure overnight can be harmful. If crix have no food they will feed on your iguana. I’ve seen baby Beardies lose toes overnight to crickets left in their enclosure.

You should have a heart-to-heart with your mom! The crickets (this is gross) like to feed on reptile’s eyes! Not to mention, they just aren’t good iguana food!

Thanks for the replies guys and gals!! Im glad it wont do ne harm. Around the time when I first got Lizzie, my Mom put some dried shrimp in his food dish (this is b4 I had Zoey ), and I told her then how bad animal protein would be for him, and she said ok. But I guess that she forgot. The cricket was not in the tank over night,b/c LUCKILY I was cleaning Zoeys tank when I found it (my Mom just put it in there that afternoon while I was at school). It was hideing under the paper on her floor.

its OK to throw in a cricket every now and then Petsmart said. just not to leave em in there unless they have carrots and water.
