 Alfalfa??alphalfa? however you spell it...

a few weeks ago i got some alfalfa pellet substrate for my iguana cage.. the bag said right on it, safe for iguanas, safe to be ingested, bla bla bla, so i figured id try it out..yea, its great for his digging needs, but now he refuses to eat his actual iguana pellets in preference to eating the alfalfa pellets, and hed rather eat them than his fresh food, too! i have to take him out of the cage for at least an hour before he’ll even look at the fresh food.. he’s still poo’in fine, but i was wondering if i should just get rid of the alfalfa pellets just in case? he looks good otherwise, hasnt lost ne weight, if anything he looks healthier

Yes...I would get rid of the pellets. Use paper. You don’t want him eating the substrate even if it is edible. Plus, too much alfalfa is not good.
