Really need help???? Tell us about your set up. What kind of lighting do you have? Do you have UVB/UVA lighting? What are the temps in the cage? How big is the cage? What do you feed your ig? Are there any strange markings/sores/ scratches on the ig? How long has he been acting weird? Do you use any reptile supplements? How old/how large is your ig?
Just from the little bit you’ve said, I’d guess Metabolic Bone Disease (when a reptile doesnt get enough calcium and UVB lighting, and their bones get soft and brittle and weak- VERY serious), or not enough food/nutrients and he is very weak. In any case, he needs to see an exotics vet, IMMEDIATELY.

Really need help???? I have a open cage with a uva/uvb bulb at one end and the heat lamp at the other. It has to be something that is wrong with them when I bring them home because it was acting funny when we got home and then I put it in the cage and it started falling over and died within an hr of being home. I take it it’s not me if it was having problems before I got it home!
Ok, How do you pick an Iguana that is healthy? I got the 2 I got from a Reptile store and have never had any problem with any of the other animals from there. I really want an Iguana and have all the proper stuff to take care of it so how do I get one that is gonna stay alive???

Really need help???? Call these people right away. Tell them about the first and the second and request a refund. Personally I would call the SPCA and place a complaint, other that a gas leak or some terrible air poison I doubt that it is you or your home. These are obviously sick animals and the stress of transportation is sending them into acute what ever ails them. Call around to the local vets in the area and find out if they take care of exotics, ie reptiles. Ask the ones that do to recommend a place to get an iguana and shop there. Unfortunately around here, Memphis, there are alot of places that sell iguanas but have no idea what they are doing. Two days ago I went to a place here and all the baby iguana cages were filled with lettuce and tomatoe. I told the owner that they can not feed the babies that stuff and his comment was, "oh geeze, I thought it was strange how many of them died." I am sorry you had to go through all this just trying to find a friend but unless you check out the store and know that they know what they are doing your money may be lost in sick or poorly cared for animals. Call them to get your money back and then check with the local vets, they are usually very helpful in picking a reputable source for a pet.

Really need help???? There is definately something wrong with the igs from that store. You may have gotten alot of reptiles from that place that were fine but the care of igs is much more involved than it is for most other reptiles. Take a look at the way they are kept and their behaviour. They should be alert and clean with proper food and lighting in the enclosure. All animals in the enclosure should be healthy looking. If even one of them looks bad off, suspect the whole batch. Ideally, they should be in their own enclosure but nearly all pet shops will put many small igs in one enclosure as it is easier to keep them that way no matter how wrong it is. I would consider getting an ig from a reputable breeder but if you do insist on getting on from the pet store, have it checked by a qualified herp vet. Let the shop know what you have been experiencing and see if they can give you any information as to the care of the animal. Not so that you can get care instruction but rather so you can see how they have been taking care of them... Good luck.

Another reason why pet shops shouldn’t sell igs. in Maine you can only adopt or bring in from out of state, no more selling. Poor poor babies. Maybe you should do what we did, go to Green ig socety adoption pages and apply, it’s free and these igs really need good homes.
