 Odie poops everywhere!

have you noticed if theres a certain TIME he poops? caus you can litter box train him like this..

start by either filling your tub some, and putting him in it once or twice a day until he goes, or by getting a cat litter box( thats what i have) and putting water in it.. whenver you see him start to do the poopy back-up-shuffle, grab him and put him in the litter box.. most iguanas prefer to go potty in water ne way, so he’ll relize really quick that the water is the best place to go..and he’ll start lookin for it when he hasta go,, after about a week, lower the water level in the litter box till its barely covering the bottom,, enough that he can feel it on his feet. another few days later, put newspaper in the litterbox, and just spray it with a waterbottle mister thing so that its damp. ANOTHER few days later(lol) you can start putting the newspaper in dry.. i dont kno how big ur iggy is, but mines about 3 feet, and i have him using a medium sized (bout a foot long?) litter box.. there cheap, and the only important thing to remmber is that when you have to get him a bigger one, make sure its the same color! nero isnt the brightest iguana in the banana tree, and he refuses to use a litterbox that isnt HIS blue one. ne questions let me kno!

First, don’t let them run around until they do poop.

They take well to tub training. Fill bathtub with luke warm water and put ig in it before he has gone that day. Warm water will make him go normally. Clean out tub and rinse him. Do this at the same time every day. Eventually your ig will wait for you because they are pattern oriented. Eventually you can let them go in the tub with no water in it which is easier to clean....scoop and flush in toilet, rinse. Bleach tub after you take ig out and rinse well. Others have done the same thing with tubs of water or paper training but that will take longer than the bathtub. Some igs take to this immediately.

Not mine, I put her in the tub every morning and she will stay in there for ever if I let her, and no poo, but as soon as she gets back in to her tank, it on! She’ll poo everywhere!!

I don’t let him run around till he does poop, I let him roam, and he just does it... today I was sitting with him feeding him, and I hear ’squish’ and I look down and there’s a huge brown poopie on my shirt... so yeah, that was gross. Alright, I’ll try the tub thing, my ig is about 2 feet long, still a little guy. Thanks for your help guys!

Eisa absolutely REFUSES to poop in the tub. I’ve tried every morning, afternoon and night. She will not go. As soon as we put her back in the age though she’ll poop in her water tub(a kitty litter box). They are sooo stubborn!!!!

Well that still doesn’t sound bad as long as she is consistent. If you really want to change that, take out that pan completely. You can put it in the bathtub and see if she’ll switch. If you are fine w/how things are now, I wouldn’t bother changing it.
