 Question

Hi, im watching my friends iguana for a few weeks. The iguana when I first broungt it home, was active, exploring his tank, but now he just lays in his tank for most of the day with his legs layed out kinda relaxed not using them at all. Is this normal for an iguana?
Thanks

 Question

If he is under his light (or heat source) he is basking. Iguanas spend most of their time basking. This is how they heat their bodies for proper digestion and for warmth since they do not generate their own heat like humans do. If he is unfamiliar with you he may be a little upset too but he’ll be fine. Has he been relocated to your house? If so, some iguanas are a little tempermental just after a move and may not eat as much for a few days. There’s nothing to worry about though. Just keep an eye on him and ask here if you have any concerns.
