Uvb They won’t get too much if you turn your lights off at night.

Uvb We do. Her new enclosure is finished and we were thinking about putting 2 uvb lights in it, on separate levels to be sure no matter where she is she will be getting some of the rays. Thank you for replying.

Uvb UVB is used to synthesize vitamin D3 using the calcium your iguana gets from it’s diet. Too much D3 can lead to serious health problems but with a normal diet and photoperiod I haven’t heard of this happening. I’ve only heard of it when additional dietary D3 is added. Xta is right though. If you have a regular photoperiod set up for your iguana you shouldn’t have to worry about it at all.

Uvb Two strip lights? That is perfectly fine. If you are talking about 2 MVB lights, I’ve done that too, although consider using one of each. One of mine was pretty old when I used the two MVBs so one didn’t give off much uv. I’m back to using one strip light again due to the many MVB failures.
