 Flavia’s aggressive Iguana

I was talking to a friend of mine about how aggressive your iguana is. He thought that maybe something in a season triggered a chemical reaction or something that turns on that breeding and normal behavior. So I was thinking that if you cooled godzilla down by bringing his tempature down that maybe he would come out of breeding season? Like his body doesnt know to come out because its still hot. I dont know if you tried that, but I figured I would bring it up anyway and see if anyone else had an opinion on it.

That’s an interesting idea. I’ve heard of people who keep their igs indoors cutting back on the number of hours the lights are on to try and convince their aggressive fellows that the season has passed. Sometimes that works very well and other lizards just seem to ignore the changing conditions.

 Thanks PE!!

Thanks for your interest but how can i cool down Godzilla?Did you forget i raise my igs outdoors? With the beggining of the summer the temp outside is even hotter!
When my vet came here a few days ago we both checked again TREX femoral pores and we arrived at the conclusion that he is a female. His femoral pores are not proeminent like my other igs but large and flat just like James Heitfield (sp??)described in his book. The photo of a female femoral pores showed in his book looks very much like TREX!!Then my vet said that this could explain Godzilla very bad breeding season. He started to have his first bad breeding season when TREX became sexually mature.

 Re: Thanks PE!!

You could always bring him indoors for a few weeks to cool him, if you have enough room to put his cage inside that is.

So T-rex might be a girl, huh? With all the gender-bendering going on lately with my friends’ and my lizards I’ll wait for the appearance of eggs before I decide whether or not any of your igs are actually girls.

So many people were just sure that Titian the beardie was female for the first 4 months of his life and now he’s got the biggest hemipenes I’ve seen in a long time.
