Sleestack and Flapjack go to the vet

I took Slee and Flap to the vet. What an adventure that was! They both got checked (although I snuck Flapjack in for free....well kinda). The vet said they both looked good, although he commented on Slee looking skinny (he just made a big poop before we got there though and hadn’t had his 2 bowls of greens for dinner!) It’s funny how they go from fat to skinny with one giant poop. I got blood tests for both and am awaiting results. I thought because of Slee’s recent growth that he may be showing slight signs of MBD (side of his mouth looks a little misaligned). The vet thought he looked fine though and wasn’t showing any obvious signs. I just know my babies/monsters though. We’ll see what the test says. I’ve upped his calcium intake over the last few weeks so maybe it’s reversing any possible problems.

What was the damage you ask? Okay so you didn’t ask but it was $230! That was for only examining Sleestack supposedly and doing 2 blood tests. He’s good but he’s expensive!

Oh one cute thing... I was standing near the door to the room after the vet brought Sleestack back in the room and took Flapjack out to get blood. Slee walked around, then climbed me like a tree, clinging to me, putting his head on my shoulder and claw on my head! He is heavy these days and I am small so this was quite the sight! I was touched though! The only time my big monster wants me is at the vet!

Re: Sleestack and Flapjack go to the vet

You’re such a good lizard mommy, xta! So many times you read posts about people with very sick lizards who can’t or just won’t pay those high vet bills. It warms my heart to hear of people like you who pay them to make sure their lizards stay healthy.

It’s so cute to hear of Sleestack being loving and cuddly for a change.
