Nail trimming
| when u trim your igs nails, how can u tell if u r cuting them to the qiuck? i used to be able to tell on mine, but they are razor sharp now, and i am constantly walking around w/ scratches, but when i check her nails. it looks like they are cut down as far as i can cut w/ out hurting her! are there any pics of an iguana nail, closeup w/ the border clearly showing? |

| Sorry...don’t have any pics but it can be tricky. I just cut off the sharp points (error on the side of too little) but I’ve never had blood so I stick with this method! |

Nail trimming

| yeah, that’s what i try to do. i actually was using a regular nail clipper, but i don’t like how it feels when it cuts. i’m afraid the nail will get all cracked or split. i’m gonna go buy a cat claw trimmer, or something for ig’s if i can find it. i even tries filing her nails!! she gets a better manicure than i do! |

| I have used nail clippers too, they do seem to splinter the nails a little bit. I also have a pair of reptile clippers, which I can never seem to find! I thin they may be hiding them on me. Another method I have tried successfully is cauterizing. I have a batter operated cauterizer. I just hit the tips of the nails quickly and its done. They do feel a little heat for a split second. | I have 2 types of clippers but I like the scissors with the notch cut out best. I got them at Petsmart or a place like that. |
