How old are they???
thanks Pe for the information on diet and lighting, introduced some of the diet changes today with no problem, he ate everything, he has a very healthy apetite. just wondering how to tell how old they are, is there any way by looking at them, like counting the rings on their tail, he kind of came to us unexpectedly and we really know nothing about him,(even if he is a he or a she) he looks like a boy to me, anyway, he is 30 inches long, mostly green color some browninsh color on the top of the back legs and throughout the tail. his body doesn’t have much bulk to it. anyway of telling by looking at them. thanks

| There is really no way of knowing. Depending on the region your iguana came from (heredity), he will be a particular size...and then depending on his life prior to finding you, he will have grown to his full potential or had his growth stunted due to improper care. I have seen a 6 year old iguana that is smaller than a 2 year old iguana. I am fairly certain about my own iguana because I got him when I believe he was a year old. I could be wrong though and he could have been older, however. |
