| You really need to think in terms of a cage...not an aquarium. It would be a waste of money because they outgrow aquariums in less than a year. You are going to have a 5-6 foot iguana so you need a cage that is larger than that! You might as well start with your final cage to save yourself money and trouble but if you want you can build a smaller one now and a bigger one later. Here is my cage, and most people recommend bigger than this even. Remember you can convert a closet into a cage too.

| My iguana is now 6 years old, but we built him this cage a few years back. Like I said, you can build a smaller cage now if you like, but you will need another in 2 years. An aquarium won’t even last you a year. Our cage is built out of plexiglass and melamine (hardware cloth on the top with the lights). You can make it out of wood, an old entertainment center, an old shower stall, whatever....If you don’t have the money for an expensive cage, be creative. |

| xta is right. i went through 2 aquariums and too much money buying them before i learned my lesson! you will save a bundle if you think ahead. trust me, they outgrow the tanks way faster than u can imagine! my ig is 2 years old and i went through 3 living spaces already! |

| when she was a baby i recieved her as a gift and the person who bought her for me got her a 20 gallon. DEFINITELY not going to last long. i went out and got a 50 gallon..then something bigger. but aquariums are just that...aquariums. good for fish, good to start w/. but in the long run, a waste of $$ that constantly needs to be replaced. Iggy is 2 years old, and when i got her, she was about the size of her head and neck now. so u can imagine how fast they grow! |
