Any ideas on saving $ on my electric bill?!
i don’t know about you guys, but iggys cage costs me a bundle to heat! it raises my con-ed bill by about$40 more a month! i am using 2 ceramic heaters w/ my uvb bulb. depending on how the temp is at night, sometimes i can turn one off and just put one of the 2 extra bulbs on to keep it warm enough. i use those when it’s a bit too hot for the ceramics. i can’t keep the cage at the proper temp w/ out all of this stuff! do any of you know a more energy efficient means of doing this? help! |

| I thought so much about this myself. Who wouldn’t want to save on their electric bill. I been thinking solar energy, but that can be expensive to set up depending on what your doing. I checked it out for a bit, and then kind of blown it off. Now my reptile room is very warm, I wish that T-rex and ZooMed would make their Mercury Vapor bulbs in a lower wattage then 100 watts. PE |

| You may want to check out radient heat panels for the night instead of the CHEs. I have never used them but I hear they save a lot of energy. They cost more but they don’t burn out like bulbs. Then again, my CHE hasn’t burnt out either. So some money up front for the radient heat panel would probably save you in the long run. |
