I’ve had mine grow a foot per year (although not every year). It just seems amazing that they would grow that much to me though.

oh yes....the dreaded claws that are always painful no matter how much you trim them! The good news is that your pain tolerance increases as your iguana grows...lol.

ok thanks im going to get one the year before i move out since i cant get one this year my dad saw a 3 foot one and said he didnt want a big monster in his house he thought they only got 6 inches hehehehehe when i told him 6 feet he thougth i said 6 inches hehehe thats hard to beleive and ig that small its hole live

Ever considered getting a water dragon?? They get less big, look similiar to igs, are carnivores while young and then herbivorse when older. They are really really sweet. Also love to swim! Have many of the same needs as iguanas but only get about 1 foot!! I bought my iguana before knowing about them....but i think i would have gotten ig any way.

ahh yes, those sharp claws.. xta is right, though, your tolerance to pain is so dullled after you get used to being scratched enough! but people always look at my arms or hands and think i’m crazy to have a pet that does that to me, but i don’t care.. love her just the same.

I know this post is older than some of you...LoL, just kidding but waterdragons get longer than 1’! They grow to 3’ and even bigger, the largest ever recorded was 1" shy of 4 ’! Just thought I set the record straight!

Yes chinese water dragons get three feet long but I think the guy above was just telling the other about the body lenth...70% of them is tail.

None the less it still counts as the cwd itself! I don’t do the whole we only count half of him bull, and the tail is just extra. If he’s 3’ with tail, then he’s just 3’!
