 How many hours of darkness?

I was wondering if it’s okay to vary from the recommended 12 hours of darkness, 12 hours of light. i’m sure that this is best, but i don’t have a timer, so basically my iguana is on the same day/night schedule as me. i turn her lights on at 7:30-8:00 am, feed her, then i’m off to work. i feed her dinner at about 10:30 11:00 pm, let her eat, then shut off the lights. so, she’s getting 15 hours of light, and 9 hours of dark, sometimes less.
how many hours do your igs have dark/light? is what i’m doing unhealthy? if so, i will try something different.

I want to invest in a timmer for my ig.....they need 12/12. Is there a window in the room?? Perhaps leave curtains open so that ig gets sunruse and sun set. Its important for them to get those bcause they rely on them to know when its breeding season, etc.

12/12 is best although I admit I deviate some so I can spend more time with them. However, feeding that late at night isn’t so great because they need time to bask after their meal. You can get a couple timers for $5 each at walmart for the lights. I’m not sure what you could do about the feeding. Timers make things a lot easier though.

About 12 and 12 is fine. It is not horrible if it is a little longer or shorter. SHouldn’t hurt it. I get up around 7:30 to go to work, and turn his day lights on and then about 1:00pm I get my lunch hour and feed her (this way it gives her time to warm up and then expect her food. ) Then when I get home about 4 :30 I spray him and talk to him and stuff. Then I turn out his lights when I go to bed around 11:00pm, or sometimes even midnight.

 How many hours of darkness?

My iguana gets up around 8:00am-8:30am and goes to bed at about 7pm. So I just time the lights by what he wants to do. He is like clockwork.

Does anyones ig sleep in and go to bed later? LOL i normaly try not to deviate from 12/12 but on serveral occasions the lil one is still sleeping or still active.....and 7am/7pm is when it starts getting light and dark so i know its not the light from the window.

 How many hours of darkness?

Hi

check this out

day/night cycle

don’t feed her at night since she has no time to bask and digest right. Just give her enough in the morning. Is she pooping regularly???
