Superworms diet

Hey guys
i just ordered 100 suerworms and i know they eat potatoes and the bran they are in but how many potatoes would get devoured in 1 day and in 1 week?

1 cherry potato...u kno the real small ones....cut into about 1/4’’ slices would feed them for about a week.....my 1000 load was able to eat a whole huge potato lol.....so yea one cherry potato will do....and for bran....1 handful will feed them for about a week also.....hope this helps

I use oatmeal for substrate as well as food. If they are overcrowded they will kill/eat each other. I use one of those $1 plastic shoeboxes from walmart as my keeper container.

oh yea u i didnt even think about u havin them n their shipping container.....u definitely gotta put them n a much bigger container like he said.....a plastic shoebox.....so they can’t chew through.....i use a rubbermaid 18 by 28 by 6 container in W X L X H.....sorry had to think about it lol but yea they need room to crawl otherwise theyll eat each other....hope this helps n good luck

thanks heaps guys. yes as soon as they arive i have a ’toy box/storage holder’ sized plastic container for them. because there will be so many should i put 3 inches of substrate at the bottom?

yea that mainly need floor space so if its wider and longer than it is tall for the container 3 ’’ of substrate should b enough....just make sure they have enough room for wet/dry sides and potatoes/bran on each side....good luck

Be careful with the "moist" side that you don’t get mold in there. I was gone a month and left my dad in charge and came back with tanks full of mold.
