 Mealworm time frame

how long does it take for a mealworm to become a cacoon then a beetile , is there a way to speed up the process. Also how long do they live.

Are you keeping them in the fridge? If so, don’t. Keep them kinda warm. How long depends on how big they are already. Buy a container of large and keep them fed and watered and you’ll have pupae and then beetles going like crazy in no time.

How many mealworms did you start with? If you start having them die, turn black on you, move them to a cooler location. What size mealworms were they? I would start looking every couple of days as you have time. Then once you start to notice more of them turning just check every other day to every day. That’s how I do it. Right now I’m letting my mealworm breeding come to a hault and leaving them all in one container. My beardie no longer eats mealworms and was eating supers, but now no longer is eating them and I have over 900 left. sigh.

I would think supers would be too big since they’re larges. Once they turned to beetles and had small one’s that would work.
