 Need 3000 Mealies a week!

Okay, due to the shortage of mealies, we are going to start breeding them ourselves. I understand that by the time they are adults the shortage will most likely be over, but we needed to do this anyhow. I was just curious, what would be a good number to start with since we go through almost 3000 mealies a week. We started today with 200, will that be enough?

Well depends how fast you need this. Id go ahead and start with 500+. Ofcourse in time your colony will grow and produce more. I started out with 100 last year and now i produce a few thousand a week. But wow, needing 3000 a week? that must be a nice collection you got there.....my leos and the new hatchlings i hatched, and my tegus dont even eat that much lol

id say start with 1000 or 2000 we go through about 150 giants or 300 regulars a week and my gliders plough through them the great thing about mealies is you can refrigerate them without killing them (as long as they dont get too cold i.e. freezing) so you can put them in the fridge to keep some for food so without them turning but man you might need to start with even more than that for 3000 a week for you to be able to have some for your pets dinner and still some for your breeding colony, once they get goin they produce alot but it takes months for it to get started good,
