 Breeding SilkWorms

I am considering to breed silk worms. What are the steps to breeding and rasing them (i.e Temperature, food, enclousure etc)?
Thank You

Gosh every insect does not need a great temprutary.. :) I fed them many times..its so easy to take care of it :) Onebad thing about it you can only feed it with mulberry leaves.thats its best :D and only about out of 100 2 can fly when they get out fromthe silc tube they make.the females after gettin out of the silk tube they lay the eggs and malesthat come out of the silk tube sperm them buy splashing some red stuff on the eggs :D and in couple of days they day in total they live about 1-2 months ;)

this is not true the males do not spray red stuff on the eggs the moths release this "red stuff" after the y come out of there cocoons..once the moths come out of the cocoons they will mate the females r alot bigger then the males just pair them up but putting them under a plastic cup or just let them do it them selfs the males will find the females after they mate the females lay the lemon yellow eggs right after once they r layed let them stay there untill they turn blckish gray then u put them in the fridge..for at least 3 weeks then u can take out as many eggs as u want to hatch. they will hatch within a week or two.and u can buy silkworm chow or use mulberry leave from trees in the area try to wash them off befor u feed to the worms

does putting the eggs into the fridge stop the eggs from growing n hatching?
what if u wanted to hatch all of them would u not put any in the fridge?
do u need a substrate for them to lay the eggs in at all?
and how many eggs do they lay??

i no alot of questions but i am also intersested in bredding them

I used tp rolls for the cocoons.

In all honesty, I think the easiest thing to do is to buy the eggs in bulk, along with dry food in bulk if you don’t have access to lots of mulberry leaves. Then you can keep the eggs in the fridge for a really long time (maybe a year, but don’t quote me on that!) and just take out the ones you want.

You can look on websites that sell them for caresheets - mulberryfarms, coastal silkworms are two I’ve used. Basically, you just put some eggs in a little container with crumpled newspaper in it. Keep it in a warm place, like on top of the fridge. Then you get little black worms, they look like short hairs, lol. You put a little food in there every day, and they start to grow. When the poops build up, you can gently shake them out - they’re called ’frass’.

You have to make sure every thing is really clean, and wash your hands everytime you feed them or handle them. They are very delicate, as someone said, and sensitive to moisture, mold, bacteria, etc.
