 Tiny Praying Mantis Eggs

i have had some experience with praying mantids before because i bought on of those egg sacs and it hatched and i had lots of them for a year until they died of old age. but now i have one that i found outside(i live southern California) and i am pretty sure that it layed two egg sacs (oothecas, i think) but they are very small. can females lay them without mating with a male because i am not sure if it mated or not because i only caught it recently. the reason i ask this is because the egg sacs are very tiny, only about one centimeter long. i don’t know if this is the average size for whatever species it may be or if it just layed some duds. if there are babies inside of them they must be extremely small. if anyone has any experience with anything like that please answer because i don’t really know what to do.

 Tiny Praying Mantis Eggs

Hey,

Well some mantids do lay eggs with parthenogenesis but that’s very rare and only applies to a certain group. What species of mantis is it?
