 Mantis with bent abdomen =(

He just got his wings. He shed upside down, so I’m pretty sure it was just gravity and the softness of his skin. It won’t straigten out whether he’s upright or upside down. Like paper...the more it bends the more fragile the crease becomes. Will it get better? We’re trying to keep him from going upside down. He shed about 24hrs ago. The last time he ate was about 2 days ago. I will post a pic later. He seems to want to kick it off =(

Sorry it’s been so long. He’s still alive and nothing has changed. I couldn’t get pics because my accounts on my comp are being stupid and I couldn’t get to the pics. But here is one. Tonight he’s not doing too well...he eats and stuff, but we’re not sure if we should see what happens or put him out of his misery. His next moult probably won’t go too well...


I’m pretty sure it was a humidity issue...

=( He seemed alright but all of a sudden his eyes turned black and he died a couple of days ago. Maybe he couldn’t pass all of his waste?

I’m sorry to hear that, he did look a little weak on the picture. And I didn’t say anything because if you go on the mantidforum, people often post posts of mantids with bent abdomens and they always turn out fine.
