Looking into geting a praying mantis

Hello,

A 10gal is a bit big. What you could do, is get a cricket keeper or something for when it’s a baby. Because most are sold as nymphs, then when it’s adult you could move it into the 10 gal.

I’d recommend a Giant Asian mantis. As this is simple to care for, and will get big enough for a 10 gal.
No need for the light, the mantis is fine at room temp, and would spend most of it’s time on the lid of the cage, so the light would probably burn it.

The plants etc is fine, but make sure it’s not too crowded as the crickets would just spend all the time under it all and the mantis would never find it.

I can’t really tell you where to buy them, since I’m in the UK, but I’m sure someone else would tell you.
