 Need ID on beetle

Hello I was outide looking for worms and i found a Beatle about an inch and a half long, black, and has pincers half a centimeter long. I live in Kansas, United States.

Does anyone now what it is?

I would say a stag beetle, or one of those japanese beetles that kills trees...I don’t know where they’re found though or if they’re in Kansas...
