about 65% of my baby easterns take pinks right after 1st shed no probs, the other 35% eventuly do or don’t.

That sounds about right. My poor 07 OBX female just ate for the first time on her own last week!! I have been assist feeding her mouse tails and half a frozen corn snake hatchling since September. I was finally able to catch a ground skink since it warmed up here and that worked like magic!! Her second meal was a small 5 lined skink so hopefully it wont be long before she takes pinks.

so when they are first born they don’t feed them till they shed. how long does it take until they have a shed. do they eat the umbilical. i’m learning more about snakes every day and find it very interesting.
