Full grown my desert kingsnake is between 2-3/4ths years old and 3 and 36 inches long. my question is, do you think it is mostly done growing or could i spur it on another 6 inches or so with increased feeding. it used to eat about 3 pinkies, then 2 fuzzies and now just one mouse per week, but it has never eaten while in blue. if i bumped it up for two do you think it could have another growth spurt in it???

Full grown
It really depends if it is a male or a female, it might have some more growin in it but it might not because thats the size of some males.

Full grown Should still have some growing to do. I first bred Satin when she was just under 3 years old and 44" long. She’s now at over 48". ;)

Full grown I’d give her more than one mouse per week also. Kings are known for voracious appetites had need more food than a lot of other colubrids such as corn snakes.

Full grown interesting because you always hear the "one appropriate sized prey item per week" gospel preached a lot on this forum and most care sheets. come to think of it though its always been pretty mellow but lately its been a little jumpier maybe some extra feeding would do it some good. i have my suspicions that its a female because the tale tapers very quickly from fat to narrow although i don’t know how relevant that is in king snakes.

Full grown I always offer 2 prey/week. Most of the time they will take both consistantly. Those times that they don’t I’ll offer to the next one in line, so sometimes one may end up with 3-4 in a single sitting and still feed the following week.

Full grown i actually fed my desert kingsnake two on saturday and today being monday night i held it for a long time and it was really mellow so maybe some more food will do it some good after all. there is always the how much can they eat versus how much should they eat to actually simulate a natural environment. it’s borderline amusing how long it can take a snake to find a prey item even in the confines of their enclosure so i’ve always imagined that in the wild they probably don’t eat a whole heck of a lot.

Full grown we usually feed our kings 2-3 each week!!Depending on the size of the prey but usually they eat AT LEAST 2. Ours are kinda small yet,our biggest one is 24 inches and we just got him about 4 months ago and he has already grown twice the size he was when we got him.
