Noes Rubbing help My Baby MBK appears to be rubbing his noes raw. At first thought It was a little shed stuck on the tip of his noes, but after a few closer looks it looks like he’s rubbing his noes raw. Now I must point out it’s not the tip, tip, It on the top part of his head at the tip. He’s in a ten gallon tank for now. (He’s 18 inches long) He’s most certainly not to big for his cage. I do see him run his noes along the glass on his tank often. Now my question is how do i treat his current wound and how do i prevent it?
His cage has two hides on on each side, and the middle of his cage stays about 80F.
Thanks

Noes Rubbing help I had the same problem with my Grey rat snake. After I moved her into a rack she stopped doing this. I’d suggest to make the cage feel more secure by putting paper on the outside of the cage to make it so she cant so outside of the cage. If that dosent work you can try placeing more hides inside the cage.

Noes Rubbing help I’ll try getting more hides and such in there, I wouldn’t think it’s the fact that he can see out because three of the four sides are up against a wall. But if the more hides don’t work I’ll try that. Thanks, anyone else have any more suggestions? Is there a way I could treat the current wound?

Noes Rubbing help Neosporin will work on the wound just soak the snake in warm water and put a light coating on the wound and try not to get any directly into it’s mouth. Depending on how raw the wound is it may leave a scar but it should go away within a few sheds.

Noes Rubbing help You should do this once a day along with soaking her in water. It will get her to shed quicker. If her nose is bleeding than go ahead and put more neosporin on. If she stops rubbing on the glass than the rawness on the nose should turn into a scar within one or two sheds. Go ahead and keep doing this once a day until the rawness is gone.
