As you can see, I just use whatever for a water dish, and use plastic cereal bowls w/ door ways soldered into them.

I agree with Greatballz. I’m inspired by your setup and would like to build a similar one myself. The multi-level containers of that sort I’ve seen are sort of open at the top and I would think snakes could escape, but obviously yours don’t. How do you control the gradient in there?

Pics of heat installation would be awesome.

I’m just on really quick so I can answer some of your questions (no more pics yet, but I’ll work on that).

Basically I cheated and bought this rack through Animal Plastics. Assembly is required, but it was easy. It is very nice, and convenient. It comes with a really long heat cable, which threads through the rack so each tub gets bottom heat. The cable is so long, that I was able to drape the extra across the top and sit a snake in a tub on top of there. It is plugged into a Ranco thermostat, and the probe is taped so that it touches the heat cable in the top rack (there is a groove cut in for this purpose). The heat cable sits in grooves cut into each shelf. This particular rack can hold 6 to 12 snakes at a time, depending on the tub size. Currently, I am using both the 15 qt and 32 qt Sterilites. There is slight gap when you use the 32 qts, so for the really tiny hatchlings you can wedge something underneath the front of the top to make it push up all the way to the top. The 15 qts automatically touch the top. I’ll try to get some pics up soon...I’m so busy lately!
