Is a flordia king snake the same thing as a brookis king snake?Just wondering.

Yes, brooksi are a lighter phase of floridana from south florida once thought to be it’s own subspecie

Problem now a days is EVERYONE claims they’re Florida Kings are the brooksi phases whether they have the "look" or not. TRUE brooks should show very little if any saddles, and are typically described as being a uniform color overall as an adult. ;)

from what i understand, darker phases can be found in s.florida and lighter phases can be found in mid-florida this is what led Blaney(is he the one who sunk brooksi?)to realize they are both the same sub.

die-hard hobbyists are still confused about it and dealers use the name brooksi to increase sales because newbs think they will have something special.

n.florida state has easterns(both phases normal and"goini") and L.g.floridana/L.g.getula integrades.
