I’m glad you found him. I always feel bad if one escapes knowing he’s hungry or thirsty.

You’ll find him near a mouse cage again soon L.Roy.... he knows where the food is. He’ll try to help himself.

I have yet to find Jett, and it’s over a year now. REALLY wanted to see her turn into an MBK.

no actually he was about to, but luckily i had go into the snakeroom and caught him right b/4. because that mouse cage had like four nursing big mamas and he’s just an ’08 so i think it would have been curtains for the great escaper,:(
bummer about jet,:( he’s that patterned MBK right?

Yea, she got out the same week that Bandit was laying her clutch last year (June). I didn’t close her tub right and didn’t take notice til it w3as too late because I was preoccupied with Bandit. I put out critter keepers with pinks in them for the next 2 months or so and never got a "bite". :-/

It’s because of her that I built my rack the way I did. With the shelves holding the lids down. So, if I ever put a lid on wrong again it either won’t fit back into the rack or the rack itself will hold it down, so no more escapes. ;)

luckily i’ve only had 3 escapes in the last 4 years. 2 recovered and 1 vanished without a trace.

When Snakezoid made her one successful escape out of her tank with the stupid lid with a tiny little gap, which I quickly replaced with much better lids with sliding latches, I had a flashback to when I had Snakely, the little rattle snake. He had been in that exact same type of escapable lid set up! Now that would have been a major bummer to have HIM loose in the house! He didn’t spend much time searching for a way out like the kings do, he just sat under his hide and only rattled his tail when the cats pawed on the glass of the tank, because they could smell the mice I fed him. He was a nice little snake even if he was a rattle snake. I let him go in a safe place, for all concerned!

i am slowly getting better cages,i have had 2 escape on me and i have had mine less then a year. The first one was hubbies fault he had him in his pocket in the van,,of all places!!!We found him the next day in the very back. The second was our MBK she had one of those loose fitting lids and has since gotten a temperary remedy for that. One of our cats actually found her and luckily it was the one that just likes to play with prey mostly instead of eat and i went over to see the comotion and their she was hissing and trying to strike at our cat, lol.

first escape in the van

second one in the house
