 Question on hibernation

I am going to be breeding my cal kings for the first time and will need to hibernate them soon. From everything I have read, they will need to be ’empty’ for 2 weeks and slowly cooled to 50-60 degrees for 3 months. Where does everyone put their snakes to hibernate? I do not have a basement and the house sits at 70 or so through the winter. Any ideas?

Since you live in North Carolina, it seems if you had some sort of small shed outdoors you could put a small heater in to prevent too cold of temperatures, you would be all set. In lue of that, could you close off a closet or other small room from the rest of the house?

 Question on hibernation

Thanks for your thoughts here. I do have an attic area that stays pretty cool in the winter but I just don’t know how cold. Maybe I can start there and check the temp frequently.
