 Whst kind of snake is this?

I was told that it was a cali king, however it doesn’t look like it. Any ideas?

You might not be able to tell from the picture, but his scales that look black, are a very dark brown. If you hold him up to a light it almost looks like a chocolate color. The part that looks white is actually yellow or cream color.

That does sound like a desert king, what with the yellow and very dark brown. Google desert kings for more images and you’ll see more snakes that look like yours’.

Thanks. Someone said that it didn’t really look like a cali king and I just wanted to make sure so that I can get him the right temp and humidity.
