 Albino King Snake Aggressive Behavior

Hey so i decided to buy one at my local petland. had it for about two weeks now, but the past 5 days it has been showing very aggressive behavior. everytime me or my girl trys to pick him up he’s stikes at us. i just don’t know what to do anymore, should i just leave him alone or is there a way to calm him down. btw he’s about 1.5" he sheded about a week ago, could that be why ? i’ll try to get a pic up soon

After snakes shed their skin it is sensitive for a couple of days. But I don’t think that is your problem here, since a week has passed.

What I do with timid snakes who strike out of fear is cup the snake in my hands over my chest, so it can feel my heartbeat and my body heat, but learn this wont result in being eaten. I don’t let the snake get away with striking, as that can become a bad habit. I hold the snake for a few minutes each day to condition it. Don’t squeeze him, just confine him under your cupped hands. When moving around snakes, move slowly; jerky hasty motions scare them.

thanks a lot, i’ll definitely try this. and yea i do think he has gotten into the bad habit of striking every time we try to handle him.
